What will you be for Halloween?

I'm the Devil!

Yesterday, Tuesday, was the ward Halloween party. Michael and I signed up to be in charge of the beanbag toss game. We had to stay late at work, and so we didn't get to have as much time as we had hoped before the party.

Once we were able to leave work, we had to run a few errands then we went to Savers. Savers is a pretty cool thrift store, I'd never been before. We found our costumes there. I'm a devil, and Michael is "the Emperor of Evil." Basically, he's the devils right hand man :-)

We then went home and changed quickly, then we went to the party. We were only about an hour late, however because pretty much everyone has little children, the party ended around 8, so we didn't have much time. But we still had a good time.

Because we were late, we didn't get to manage the beanbag toss station very much, but that's okay. We had to eat still, so we manned it for a bit, then let someone else take over as we ate some chilli. This is Michael, as he does the station. They didn't have beanbags, so instead it was a ball toss.
These are our adorable nieces and nephew. Edina is the spilled bowl of Spaghetti, Maria, and Kai are cute little dogs! Their mom made their costumes.

This is a full length picture of our costumes. Isn't mine pretty?

So, the question is, what are YOU going to be for Halloween?

I made cookies!

I'll do better next time though...

This is a delayed post, but I only just got the pictures to load on my computer.

Michael and I have been getting situated in our new home. I will take pictures of our apartment and post them soon so you can all see it!

A few weeks ago, I was craving Chocolate Chip cookies. I wanted them very badly. And so I decided to make some! I followed the recipe that was on the back
of the bag of chocolate chips, and since we didn't have any mixing bowls, or any big bowls for that matter, I used one of our pans as a makeshift bowl -as you can see below.

I also got tired of scooping the little bits at a time, and so I made a giant cookie!

What I discovered from this was that our oven does not bake evenly, the back bakes faster. So, they weren't all gooey and soft. But when we put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds they are softer.

So, I'll do better next time, they will be softer and I now have a kitchen aid which will help as well. But, for the first time making cookies by myself, I think I did pretty good!

As I was preparing the cookies, Michael fixed the light in our kitchen. He's such a good handy man! He recently got his hair cut, last week I think, so it's shorter now.

I think I'll try making cut-out cookies and making them look festive. Being married sure is fun!

Now get into the coffin...

And face your worst nightmare!

My brother Jimmy, Michael and I went to some more haunted houses on Saturday. Dad, JoAnn, Amber, Dave and Annie went to a play instead. David -my little brother- wasn't interested in either one, so he just stayed home.

Well, I had found this haunted house online, Nightmare Mansion. It's from the creators of another haunted house in Utah, The Castle of Chaos. Anyway, the Nightmare Mansion has 4 levels in it, each getting progressively scarier. There was a deal online where if you bought tickets for both the locations, the Mansion and the Castle, then you'd get a discount. And, if you got them online you received a a free VIP pass so you would skip the line, and pretty much go right in. So of course we got that deal!

I'm sorry, but once again I don't have pictures, because cameras aren't allowed into places like this.

We went to the Mansion, I was really looking forward to it. I've heard about different level ones before. The first level was definitely kid friendly. You got 3D glasses, and it was mostly just clowns. The 3D paint was really cool though! There were some loud noises that startled me, and I did scream once because something jumped out unexpectedly.

The next level was a little more intense, as was the one after that, and the one after that. I screamed a few times during the whole thing, but it wasn't as scary as I had expected, and hoped. Although the levels got more intense, it was still kind of kid friendly. Yeah, they had gross stuff, and I wouldn't take little kids to it. But it wasn't as good as the forest. I've seen better. But! It was still a lot of fun.

After that it was only 8:30, and the Castle was only ten minutes away, so we decided to hit that one up. And man am I glad we didn't go to this one first. I still didn't think it was as good as the forest, or Rocky Point, however, it was a lot of fun. I screamed a lot, the make-up was very well done, and they had some pretty neat stuff, and I thought that the acting was better in the Castle than the Mansion as well.

The worst part though, was the end. Before I tell you about it, I have to explain, as we stood in line for the Mansion (we skip the big line but we still had to wait about 10 minutes at the Mansion. At the Castle we went right in) I heard the people behind me talking about how they have this part that you go down a slide, and there are guys with chainsaws surrounding you. Needless to say, that freaked me out! So, the whole time in the last level of the Mansion I kept looking out for it... but it never came. Maybe that's part of why it was a little disappointing?

At the end of the Castle however, it did. We came to this room, there were two coffins, and two slides. I thought I was going to cry. The guy working in that room was dressed like a vampire, he could easily tell I was terrified. He told me and Michael to get into one of the coffins, Jimmy went into the other one. We lied down next to each other, and he slammed the lid closed. And then, the end where our feet were, started to dip down, slowly creating a slide... I heard the chainsaws start, and I started screaming. I tried to stay in the coffin, but I had no choice, I had to get out. Because Jimmy wasn't scared, Michael was holding me, and I was the only one screaming, they kept by me. Even though I'm sick, as is Michael, I screamed for a LONG time. I felt like it lasted for at least 5 minutes! Finally Michael was able to get us away.

The kind of embarrassing thing is that it was indoors, and all we really had to do was go up some stairs, but I had my eyes closed most of the time, sometimes I'd look but the chainsaw was always right there, and I couldn't check my bearings. So, when we finally got away, and up the stairs and into a gift shop. Yup, it was right there. There were at least five people waiting in line to buy something, and they all got to watch the show of my being terrified.

It was a ton of fun! I don't think I've ever screamed so much in my life. I love doing things like this, especially with Michael. He said he "had no idea someone could scream like that when they're sick."

We're going to hit up Nightmare on 13th as well, and maybe go back to forest, because we get in half price on Halloween. Now that I've introduced Michael to the world of Haunted Houses, he is hooked! It's great.

Roller Coasters + Halloween =

Frightmares!

On Saturday, Michael and I went to Lagoon with his sisters Mia, Mendy, Elisa and Marisa. It was such fun!

Even though it was Frightmares, we didn't get to go through the haunted houses they have, the reason being that the lines for them were at least two hours long. And since we got there around 4 in the afternoon, and the park closed at 10, we wanted to hit up as many rides as we could. We got to do a lot of them too! At first I was a little worried because of how late it was, but time was in our favor and we had a great time.

We all forgot our cameras, but here are some pics of only a few of the rides we went on.

The White Roller Coaster, it was build in 1921! it's wooden, rickety and pretty awesome. Kind of reminds me of Shivering Timbers from Michigans Adventure.

The Samurai! This ride was fantastic.

This is one of my favorites! The Spider. It seats 4 in a cart, and the cart spins as it goes on the coaster.

This is part of Wicked, it's a newer ride, and I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite. Look at that wicked small upside down part

This is another picture of Wicked, on the ride the first thing you do is come out of a tunnel and straight up that thing. It looked so super scary. We were all kind of nervous to go on as we stood in line. This was the last ride we went on, and it was a great way to end our Lagoon day! Oh man, I want to do that again...

I'm excited for when we go back! It was great fun, I loved the rides! I want to ride them all again.

In honor of Halloween, and Frightmares, there were people walking around dressed in costumes, Zombies, Witches, Vampires... it was fun. Michael tried to talk to one of the Zombies, but all he'd do was grunt.

While we were in line for one of the rides, we saw someone dressed up like Waldo, from "Where's Waldo," and Michael, when he saw him, yelled "oh there you are!!" it was super funny. Waldo laughed.

We all had a grand time. I like Michaels sisters, I'm still getting to know them, but it's great because they genuinely want to get to know me better too. I hope everyone in my family feels that way about Michael, because it makes me feel very welcome into their family and accepted. I love it.

That's all for now! Have a good day :)

Running and screaming in terror...

That's the way it is at the Haunted Forest

Ever since I was around 8 years old, my dad has alw
ays taken me to at least one Haunted House every Halloween. It's a great tradition. I love getting scared. It is so much fun! Well, this last Thursday night, we decided to go to the Haunted Forest. We'd already gone to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point -which was a ton of fun, I'll post pics later- but now it was time to get freaked out.

I was excited because this was to be mine and Michaels first ti
me going through something like that together. And after this experience, he said he will never miss a Halloween and the chance to take me. He said I have a "perfect scream" and he sure had the chance to hear it! I screamed A LOT. So did JoAnn, it was fun going with someone who screamed almost as much as I did.

It was a ton better than last year, in my opinion. The effects were really well done, and they had some very creative things. It wasn't as good as Rocky Point (that was the best one I've ever been to. It was in Salt Lake, but sadly it closed) but it was still great. I sure got scared.

The chainsaws have always been the most terrifying part to me.

In this Haunted Forest there were three chainsaws. When the first one came, I couldn't help it, I know they go for you when they can tell you're scared, but I couldn't control myself. I screamed, clung onto Michael, and ran. We ran for quite a while, and the guy with the chainsaw chased us... I kept screaming, and running, and the chainsaw kept going. It was terrifying... but it was awesome.

The second chainsaw skipped us, he didn't start it up until aft
er we walked by so that was okay. I grabbed Michael tighter, but refrained from screaming.

The third one was at the very end, after the rest of the forest was gone through. We came up to this sign with a guy in a mask holding a chainsaw, and we were in a maze kind of thing, with an almost fun house effect, with mirrors you could see him in sometimes, and we didn't know which way to go, which doorway was out. When we got to the right one, the chainsaw started behind me, I screamed and, holding Michaels hand, RAN. Unfortunately Michaels hand slipped out of mine. So while I made it to safety he was still in there. I screamed his name and started to go back for him, but my dad told me he would be fine and that he was coming. I kept calling his name, and just a minute later he came out. I don't think he'll ever let me forget that I left him. But if it was real, there's no way I would/could ever leave him.

It was a ton of fun. We're excited to go to the next haunted thing this week. Michael hadn't been to one in years, and he sure caught the bug, he said he wants to go to all of
them. We loved it.

I'm happy to say that we all made it out alive, my dad, JoAnn, Jimmy, Dave, Michael and I. I wish I could have taken pictures of all the awesome stuff they had in the forest.

I hope you all are enjoying the Halloween times and getting some good scares in!

We had a black widow spider...

And it was vicious!

First as a side note, I'm still learning how to blog, as is made evident by my last post. It looked so good as I was making it, and the layout of the pictures and the text... I was proud. However, when I posted it, it didn't look as good... Oh well. I'm still new to the whole blogger thing. So bear with me.

Now, onto the spider.

I hate spiders. They scare me. I think it's mostly the way that they move, but even when they are staying in their webs... Ugh. I just don't like them.

Well, Michael and I have a nice little apartment that we're staying in right now, and we really like it. The thing is, after we moved in we found spiders. Not one, not two, but a lot of spiders! My eyes are very good at picking up slight movements, and I always notice them, and then I say something like "Michael!! It's a SPIDER!!" And his favorite
weapon against them is using my body sprays. He'll come running when I call, grab one of the sprays, and spray it. It's an effective method, but I fear people will smell the lingering alcohol that they leave in the air and think that we drink.

On one of those nights, I saw a spider. It was big, and brown, and gross and hanging out above our door. Michael sprayed, it fell. First I ran back a little, scared that it would be angry and chase me. Once I went back to see what Michael was looking at, I saw it. The Black Widow. The big brown spider fell all the way down into a web in the corner by the hinges of the door. Black Widows have strong webs, which is why it didn't break. In that web was a Baby Black Widow. That thing was vicious. It ran
at the big one, attacked it, and hog tied its legs together with its web!

Needless to say, that frightened me more than the bigger brown one. What if it ran out of food, left its web, and came after us in our sleep? Michael was a little freaked out by the Baby Black Widow as well. I wanted him to kill it, but he thought it should get one last meal first. Thinking it would take at least a few days to finish off the big brown one, I reluctantly agreed. The next day, that's right, the very next day, it was gone. Dead. Eaten. All that was left was a carcass.
Thankfully, we have had our place sprayed, as there was not only this vicious spider, but also one that could have been a Hobo. It was big enough to be, but it didn't have some of the markings. As well as a few Yellow Sacks, and other gross spiders.

Well, that's our exciting story. It was a fun adventure. It was scary, but also fun. Now I can shock and amaze people when I tell them we once had a Baby Black Widow.

ps. That's not an actual picture of the one from out house. Michael killed it, and I forgot to capture it on film.

Have a nice day!

We should be models...

We got our wedding pictures!

And they are AWESOME! I want to post all of them on here because they are so beautiful! However, I doubt you guys would want to see ALL of them right now. And that would be a super long post. But, I want to share them with you, as they really are amazing. So, here are some:
This is us outside the Provo temple

This is me and Michael with my dad and his new wife, JoAnn :)

This is us with Michaels parents, Bobbi and Fillippo. They are super nice.

This is Michael with his sisters, Elisa, Marisa, Mia and Mendy

This is me with my sisters, Amber and Helena. I love them!

I had my dad, and Michaels dad, wear matching purple ties, and I had the other boys in the family wear matching green. I then gave color swatches to Bobbi and JoAnn of a purple like their husbands ties, and color swatches to all the girls -my sisters and his- of a royal blue :-)
So everyone had the same colors, but their own style. They picked out their shirts and wore black skirts. I loved it!

This is me with me sister-in-law, she is the sweetest.

They are all so beautiful!

I love how their shirts turned out! I really liked our colors: Royal blue, Emerald green and a Royal purple.

This is me with my brother in law, Dave, brother David, my other brother Jimmy, and my brother in law Kurt.

Michael with his brother, Matt.

I wish I could post all of our pictures! But here are some of the ones we look like models in :)

These were only some of the pictures that I love, there are tons more! I think later I'll post some from the reception too.

Our photographer is amazing! She is extremely talented. If you're ever interested, her name is Abbie Warnock, and her website is abbiewarnock.com

That was an amazing day, August 21st. It turned out exactly how I wanted it to. Yes there were things that went a little wrong, and were not quite according to plan at the reception, and I know not everything we did was how other people would have done it, but it was still a perfect day! It was our day, and it was just how we wanted it.

Thank you everyone for all of your help. Even if you feel like you didn't do very much, you did. Just loving, accepting and supporting helped more than you'll know.
Well that's all for now, enjoy the pictures, and have a good day! :-)
